In Memoriam
Daren Murray 1967 - 1996

Dal Murray founded the club with John Cickmay in the Bitter End in 1986 and was
a player for many years before weight caught up with him and he became the teams biggest fan
and most vociferous critic.
His last game was against St Elhelburga in a friendly where he scored his
first goal for years. We didn't realise at the time that it would be the last time we saw him play. The next
day he was in hospital having an operation on his leg after suffering a thrombosis.
Just over a year later, on November 9th 1996,
Dal collapsed and died after suffering a massive heart attack. He was 29.
The last North Romford game Dal watched was the 6-1 defeat of our rivals that season, Theydon Bois Reserves, and as always he
had some encouraging words to say to the opposition!
